Bring a touch of nature to your aquarium with our collection of silk plants. Designed to mimic the look and feel of real aquatic plants, our silk plants offer a realistic and low-maintenance way to add some greenery to your underwater world.
Silk plants are often a great choice because of their softer leaves which makes them great for more sensitive fish. The silk leaves won't scratch for fish like low quality plastic plants which typically makes them safer in the aquarium. Typically, silk aquarium plants have metal wire within which are coated in plastic for flexibility. This means for scratching a fish with silk leaves is very unlikely.
What Fish Do We Recommend With Silk Plants?
Typically silk plants are best for fish which have long, fragile fins, think of the fins on a betta fish for example. It is also good to consider silk plants for fish that are extremely skittish, these types of fish would typically run into things when spooked and the softer silk leaves are typically much safer. Silk aquarium plants don't work as well with more aggressive fish or fish that love to nibble or eat aquarium plants. Silk aquarium decorations are not as durable as their plastic counterparts. There is no problem adding these decorations to your aquarium but be prepared to replace them more frequently!
